Job Description

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared to high standards, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food quality, and supporting efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and helpers

Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to company standards

Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen in line with health and safety regulations

Assist in training new kitchen staff and provide ongoing support to team members

Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing food waste

Ensure proper storage of food and kitchen supplies

Support menu planning and make recommendations for improvements

Monitor kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs

Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are consistently followed

Handle any issues or complaints related to food preparation or kitchen service

Requirements:

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment (supervisory experience preferred)

Strong leadership and communication skills

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Good organizational and time management skills

Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
