Job Summary

Play an important role in livestock care and farm operations as a Swineherd. This position involves the daily care, feeding, and monitoring of pigs to ensure their health, safety, and productivity. Ideal for individuals who are hardworking, dependable, and comfortable working in a farm environment.

Key Responsibilities

Feed and water pigs according to schedules

Monitor animal health and report signs of illness or injury

Clean and maintain barns, pens, and feeding equipment

Assist with breeding, farrowing (birthing), and weaning processes

Move and handle livestock safely and humanely

Maintain proper ventilation and temperature in housing areas

Follow biosecurity and farm safety procedures

Keep accurate records of feed, growth, and health conditions

Requirements

Previous farm or livestock experience is an asset (training can be provided)

Ability to work in physically demanding conditions (lifting, standing, bending)

Comfortable working with animals and in various weather conditions

Strong attention to detail and observation skills

Ability to follow instructions and work independently
